Common questions
How much does driveway cleaning cost in Melbourne?
We quote every driveway as a written fixed price from your photos. The price depends on the area, the surface (plain concrete or exposed aggregate) and whether oil stains need a degreaser pre-treatment. Send photos and the approximate area and we'll be in touch shortly.
Can you remove oil stains from concrete?
Yes, in most cases. Fresh oil lifts well with specialist degreaser pre-treatment and pressure cleaning. Old stains that have cured for months or years will reduce significantly but may not disappear entirely — the concrete has already absorbed the oil to depth. We will tell you what to expect before we start rather than promise a result we cannot deliver.
Do you clean exposed aggregate driveways?
Yes. Exposed aggregate needs careful cleaning to avoid dislodging stones or washing out the binder. We use a surface cleaner head at the right pressure — not a turbo nozzle — and choose chemistry suited to the aggregate type. The result is an even, refreshed finish without patchy etching.
Can you remove tyre marks from concrete?
Yes. Tyre marks — especially hot-tyre transfer from vehicle braking — respond well to solvent degreaser and a controlled pressure pass. Very old or deeply baked marks may fade substantially without disappearing entirely. We pre-treat before the broad pressure clean.
Is pressure cleaning safe for block pavers?
Yes, when done correctly. We use a surface cleaner rather than a direct wand to avoid washing out joint sand. Where sand loss is significant we can re-sand after cleaning. Heavy stains are spot-treated before the broad pass.
Should I seal my driveway after cleaning?
Sealing is optional but recommended for exposed aggregate and paver driveways that you want to protect long-term. It reduces re-soiling, makes the next clean faster and restores colour contrast. Allow 24–48 hours of drying time after the clean before sealer goes on — longer in winter or in shaded areas. We can recommend a product type but do not apply sealer ourselves.
Do you clean the crossover (footpath to garage entry)?
Yes. Crossovers are included unless scoped separately. They often carry the most tyre marks and oil from vehicle turning movements, so they usually benefit from targeted pre-treatment.
How long does driveway cleaning take?
A single-car driveway takes 45–90 minutes. A double driveway or combined driveway and path takes 2–3 hours. Large estates, commercial crossovers or driveways with extensive oil pre-treatment take longer. We give a realistic time estimate in the quote so you can plan around the visit.
How often should a Melbourne driveway be pressure cleaned?
Every 12–18 months for most Melbourne driveways. In shaded or damp areas — particularly north-facing sections that get little sun — algae and black spotting can build within 6–9 months. Commercial driveways with daily vehicle traffic should be cleaned more frequently.
